This year we will celebrate our 35th wedding anniversary! time has really flown, and we have enjoyed every minute!
We live in Greensboro GA in a community on Lake Oconee. We really love lake life!
Traveling is one of our favorite activities! Normally it's short trips to see the grandchildren's sports activities although every now and then we go on a real trip! We have been to Hawaii, all over the eastern and western Caribbean, Los Cobos, France, Spain, Portugal, and Gibraltar.
Every summer we like to take the extended family on a trip which is usually the beach although we have done family cruises and trips to exotic all inclusive locations like Punta Cana!
August/September 2018 Update, We are scheduled to go on an Alaskan Cruise with some friends from our neighborhood! We are really looking forward to the trip! We will be taking a Sea/Land excursion which will include a train ride up into the wilderness and visits to sites such as Denali National Park. Stay tuned for a photo update on our trip.
December 2018 Update, the Alaskan cruise was wonderful. Hopefully in the next few days I will get some photos up on our photo page. I redesigned the page a little so you can go to different areas such as grandchildren photos and trip photos. The grandchildren photo page is password protected so feel free to drop us an email and request the password!
March 2019 Update, The year is really flying by! We are going on a cruise to Cozumel in April with our daughters family. We are looking forward to a great time! Maci, our oldest granddaughter just broke both bones in her left forearm and has rods in both bones! She seems to be recovering well and we don't think it will slow her down a bit on the cruise! We just can't get her cast wet! We are looking forward to our summer vacation in June with our granddaughters and boating season on the lake!
June 2019 Update, We have a family vacation planed in June but not all of the family can attend. Mandy and Anthony will be in Cancun and we are going to take Maci and Brooklyn to the beach for a week. Matt and his wife and possibly our grandson Chance will join us as well. Our oldest grandson Reece is taking a summer mini-mester at UGA and with that class he should be a senior next year. After graduation he hopes to attend med school and become an ER Doctor. Then hopefully we can get free healthcare :o)
November 2019 Update, Our summer vacation with our granddaughters was great. The weather was good and the only downside to our new location at Gulf Shores was the lack of crabs for crab hunting at night! Summer really flew by this year! We still put about 100 hours on the boat, but it seemed like we didn't go out on the lake as much. This fall we took our granddaughters to Amicola Falls for a night and toured a gold mine in Dahlonega.
Maci started playing volleyball for Buford schools and they had a sixth grade undefeated season. She really enjoyed it and she continues to do traveling soccer as well. Brooklyn tried out softball. She did really well for a lefty and in her final game for the season she hit a triple. I think her favorite sport is gymnastics because she can't go more than 5 minutes without doing two or three cartwheels!
Our oldest grandson continues to do well at UGA and he has a steady girlfriend now! She wants to be a dermatologist so the two would be a great match for doctors without borders!
As the holiday season approaches we look forward to a great Thanksgiving and Christmas with family.
June 2020 Update, well it seems that we have survived the Covid-19 pandemic and Penny and I are still healthy! We adopted a little dog in February and his name is Andy. He has been a great delight and a lot of company to us during the lockdown. Things in our Del Webb community are getting back to normal, but we still have restrictions on guests using any of the facilities at our disposal. Fortunately, we have the lake and we have been spending a lot of time cruising. We have started having our grandchildren visit again and we have enjoyed every minute with them! Our youngest grandson has learned to wake board behind our pontoon boat and our granddaughters love to tube and ride the knee boards. We will try going to the beach soon and we hope there are not a lot of restrictions on our activities. Only time will tell! Everyone be safe!
October 2020 Update, we are still healthy and our adopted dog is getting adapted to his new home. He has been such a great comfort to us during this pandemic! We are going to take our Granddaughters to Franklin TN this weekend which is near Nashville. There are a few sites open but sadly the Grand Ole Opry and the Ryman Auditorium are closed. Perhaps we can visit Madame Tussauds wax museum while we are there!
January 2021 Update, we are dismayed with the Presidential election and the senate special election in Georgia. We are not sure what has happened to our country! Hopefully, people will see the error in their ways before the next mid-term election. We fear that the damage will already be done by that time!
March 2023 Update, Well the mid-term election has come and gone and our country is not in any better shape. I'm beginning to think the only hope for the US is a Convention of States. Feel free to read about it here: https://conventionofstates.com
We have survived Covid-19 without any Vaccines! I'm afraid many people will come to regret getting vaccinated with MRNA based vaccines!
